Mulepackers Christmas Party

(see below for photos)

We had a lovely evening; lots of food, dancing and laughter.  The "guess the baby" quiz gave us all a good laugh.  The charity we are supporting in 2017 was chosen from suggestions in a hat and is going to be "Stars Appeal - Amesbury Ward Fund".  The raffle made £99 which bump-starts the charity box very nicely.

Thanks to everyone for making the evening such a success.  Special thanks to Sue for her gargantuan washing-up effort, Alec for clearing up the kitchen, Paul for sitting at the reception desk to greet people, Dave for doing the raffle and all those like Alison who grabbed tea-towels, brooms and dustpans.  Even though several members had other commitments, were poorly or simply couldn't get there, it was really well supported and made it so worthwhile.  A big THANK YOU to everyone!

29th October 2016:

Charity Dance

Thanks to everyone who supported the Mulepackers Social Dance.  We raised just over £165 for our annual charity, Salisbury Hospice.  Lovely to see new members there and to get the different clubs mixing together.  Thank you everyone who helped with the setting up, clearing up and putting away. See photos below ...

17th October 2016

BBC Wiltshire (Radio) visited the Porton Group on Monday 17th October to include Mulepackers CWDC as part of a feature they are doing "around Salisbury".  The programme "Plain Speaking" was broadcast live on BBC Wiltshire Tuesday 25th October 2016 at 10.45.  If you missed it, you can catch up with it on iPlayer.

June 2016

We were all thrilled when Mike Sainsbury had two of his dances published in this month's "Up Country" magazine (June 2016).  He choreographed both a line dance and a partner dance to a Bellamy Brothers track "Like She's Not Yours".  This a real and well deserved accolade.  Mike is a very experienced dancer and teacher and to get his choreography nationally published is recognition of his talent and love of dance.  We are all very proud of him and to find our clubs (Mulepackers CWDC) mentioned in the headers of his stepsheets is exciting for us all.  Congratulations Mike!

Below are clips of his Partner Dance: "She's Not".  and the Line Dance to the same music.

Sunday 5th June 2016

Thanks to everyone who attended our Mulepackers Charity party.  After taking out hall rent, we made a total of £181.60 for our 2016 charity, Salisbury Hospice.  Again thanks to everyone for the teamwork in setting up and packing away.  We are so grateful that everyone mucks in.  Special thanks to Paul for sitting at the door and helping to set up lights, speakers etc, to Dave for doing the raffle, to Alec for help in the kitchen and to all the team who washed up, cleared away etc. etc!!

2016

Thanks Diana for this amusing newspaper clip.  Sure some of us can identify with it!

A new trend starting - see Dave's poem below ...

January 2016

We asked our members to select a charity of their choice for Mulepackers to support in 2016.  We drew a name from a hat and are pleased to announce that this year's charity is SALISBURY HOSPICE.

21.1.2016  A very lovely welcome back to Roy and Jackie who paid us a visit at Laverstock club.

Elaine from Grimstead presented us with the poem below ... thanks Elaine.
